Queen of The Coast

Blue Frontier's Queen of the Coast is a 48-foot classic wooden motorsailer designed by famed marine architect William Hand and launched at the Wheeler Shipyard in Brooklyn in 1934.

She's earned her keep: she spent most of World War II guarding the East Coast against German submarines and has cruised from Baja to Alaska. Now berthed in the San Francisco Bay, she's making the connection between marine conservation and maritime heritage through Blue Frontier's nature education sails, youth outings, dockside lectures and more.
